I know referencing Jean Michel Basquiat as your favorite artist is mad old school but who cares. Basquiat is one of the most notable and prolific artists of the era so don't sleep.
I went to a screening of Jonathan Demme's new flic "Rachel Getting Married". Anne Hathaway was actually kinda dope in her portrayal of an addict dealing with a bunch of family issues.
I don't often check out anything without robots, warlocks or mutants but "Rachel Getting Married" was the truth.
I left feeling sort of guilty like I had eavesdropped on a fight at a good friends family's house.
Dita Legends has just released these specs in conjunction with the Japanese retailer Isetan. It feels like we have been doing the white aviator thing for a minute but these get a pass.
I'm a self proclaimed sci-fi nerd. I've been reading L.A. Banks' work for about 4 years now and I'm hooked.
L.A. usually writes about vampires and things that go bump in the night and with this second installment of her Crimson Moon series "Bite the Bullet" she is digging into the world of werewolves.
This is a must read (If you can, sorry no pictures).
Timberland finally got it right. Timberland in a smash up with Alife has released Abington. In recent years Timberland has lost it's appeal but with this collection I think they are on the right track.
Here we present you the latest releases by Nike SB. For the month of October they will be coming out with a Dunk Low Pro SB, P-Rod 2, Dunk High Premium SB and a Blazer Low SB. Overall the October range is subtle and solid, something we cannot say too often about Nike SB, that usually features some more colorful styles in their collection.
I've been collecting cowboy shirts for a minute so this is right up my alley. Paying homage to the late Jules Dassin, Self Edge takes inspiration from the Greek 1958 film, Pote Tin Kyriaki (Never on Sunday) for their latest signature button-down long sleeve. Replicated after the same western style shirt worn by Dassin, the silhouette features black denim from Cone Denim’s White Oak collection alongside vintage deadstock buttons, hand sewn button holes, and blue/white/blue cuff button hole colors to represent Greece. The shirt is on sale now at the Self Edge online store and their flagship store in San Francisco.
Officially, the above Air Force 1 Low Premium is scheduled to release here in the US on November 1st, 2008, in other parts of the world, they are already available in stores. This new colorway continues Nike’s simplicity approach for the Air Force 1.
For those of you who have been around the sneaker game for a little while, this Dunk High should bring back some memories for its closely resemblence to the Curry Dunk High Premium from a few years back. This new version is part of the Spark Pack which includes two other colorways using the same color and material blocking. The upper features premium brown leather on the toe guard, heel, eye stay and the swoosh. The rest of the upper include brown suede on the toebox and brown wool on the side panels and upper heel. On the entire sole is 0.44 Sticky Rubber which is generally used in Nike’s ACG line but are used here to winterize this Dunk High. The 0.44 is a grade of rubber, others include 0.41 toughest rubber and 0.47 stickiest rubber which is found in ACG products. And the last piece is the 3XDRY lining to keep the foot super dry making this a great winter Dunk High.
It's take something fresh beyond belief to make dudes stand on line for hours in November and I'm not sure the launch of the Comme des Garcons for H&M collection is it, but here comes nothing.
The stuff looks good and it's bound to go quick. The official release date is November 13, 2008. I think it might be worth the trip.
On top of being credited with discovering Jay-Z, D.J. Clark Kent is like Gandhi and Mother Theresa all rolled in one when it comes to the sneaker game.
I think we all were asleep when the buzz about Raphael Saadiq's new album "The Way I See It" was mounting.
This project is one gem after the other with high points like "Oh Girl" featuring Jay-Z and "Never Give You Up" featuring Stevie Wonder and CJ you can go wrong.
A fantastic new pack is coming from Futura Laboratories in collaboration with Medicom and G-Shock. They worked on a collaborative 100% Bearbrick and with G-Shock they worked on the 6900 large model. The entire pack comes in a multicolor colorway and both the Bearbrick and the G-Shock watch are branded with the Futura signature and with the Futura Laboratories logo. The Futura Laboratories x G-Shock x Bearbrick pack will be released at the FL Shop in Tokyo in December.
Once again, Japanese based retailer Mita Sneakers and Asics team up to present their latest duo of Gel Lyte III’s. Similar to the first version, the pack consists of two different styles, Purple Haze and Blueberry. Each consists of metallic uppers, polka dots around the ankle area and a splattered mid-sole. Both look phenomenal and feature a great amount of details, a major achievement for the Gel Lyte III.
Tom Ford probably has the best take on all things "good". From his days at Gucci to his new line with the craziest stores ever he still keeps is funky.
A trip to the flagship Tom Ford store on Madison avenue should be on your "Bucket List". GO, SEE, EXPERIENCE.
Not just the merchandise, but the the store itself is the BiZneSS.
I'm all about giving new designers and new lines their shot. Every pair of kicks can't be a winner and these joints by Diet Butcher. The "Slim Skin" sneaker are toooo forward to me.
Call me old fashioned. These kicks say all the wrong things. I'll pass on these.
