Consequence killed it last night for a room full of NYC's taste makers at the offices of hipster ad agency MOTHER New York. Pop artist Tristan Eaton created a one of a kind installation. Check out a couple of the pics from last night's event. (WARNING: the pics are fuzzy, because I was too).
Nike is up again with the next drop in the 1World Air Force 1. Berlin based artist Feride Uslu has created a rather simple gray AF1. I'm not as fond of this one as the Booba edition, but all in all, still a good shoe.
Reading is fundamental. Especially when you can brush up on all things sneaker related. The folks over Shoe Master Magazine have compiled some of the best and brightest on the shoe game in a book suitable for the most discerning coffee tables.
In honor of the 20th anniversary of the release of Spike Lee's "Do The Right Thing". Spike Lee in conjunction with Nike and Brand Jordan has put together the Do The Right Thing pack. The metallic red and pearlized white colorway take you back to 1989. Look for this pack to drop in July.
In the dog-eat-dog-then-dog-copy-dog world of kicks, there are very rarely any new and novel ideas. I too am a sucker for a new colorway on the same old shoe.
Stampd' LA is the fresh faced virgin on the scene.
Stampd' got its start a couple of years back when it was still cool the paint on your Air Force One's. The line has grown to include clever designs on clean canvas backdrops. I have a fleeting suspicion that there are bigtingspoppin for Stampd'.
I am extremely fortunate to live near NYC. Japanese retailer Uniglo opened it's first US flagship store a little over two years ago. Uniqlo offers some good ish...
In the era of high end designer smash ups, Uniqlo has inked a deal to to a capsule with Jil Sander. The Jil Sander brand is synonymous with simplicity and amazing construction. Be on the look out for the Jil Sander for Uniqlo capsule in the not so distant future.
I started my official boycott of white-on-white AF1's a little over 4 years ago. Back then, it was my firm belief that white-on-whites were the official shoe of mailroom workers everywhere (no disrespect).
This drop from Nike and Alife may be just enough to bring me back.
In keeping with the theme of financial irresponsibility, I present to you the new Louis Vuitton Reporter Bag. Just when the world teeters on the brink of a sheer and total collapse, you can stay organized and stylish as Armageddon unfolds...
Nike has been hard at work developing new shoe platforms. We all have seen the Air Yeezy but now we can drool over the RT 1. RT stands for Revolution Trainer. The RT 1 is scheduled to hit Nike accounts in April.
The folks over at Brand Jordan have brought two of Michael Jordan's hustles together. Michael Jordan Motorsports has inspired an Air Jordan VI. You can't see much in this pic, but I think the shoe is going to be interesting. I will keep you posted.
I might have been a wee bit hasty when I blasted Ye's collection for LV. These are sick. The entire collection drops in June. I might have to drop an application at my local Mickie D's to raise some extra capital.
The collabo with streetwear design powerhouse Orchard Street and Reebok is finally ready for it's close-up. The most impressive of the two shoe drop is the Re Up Lux. The shoe is different without the gimmicks and the colorway is fresh.
In an era where Beyonce is the gold standard its refreshing to hear and see a musician that is set to change the game completely. Enter Melanie Fiona. The Guyana born and Canadian bred singer infuses the passion of a Janice Joplin with the musical sensibilities of a Gladys Knight (minus the Pips) and to add insult to injury, Melanie-is-hot-to-death. Trust me, Melanie Fiona is the next big TING!
If I had to describe myself, simply put I am a student of the world. I am not an expert of any one thing, but what I am good at is putting the best things out there right in front of you. It may be my "take" on a great night out or where to buy the dopest kicks you have ever seen. In a nutshell, I am going to search the world over for the best (and coolest) it has to offer.
If you have something that you think I should see, please hit me up.
Here's to a Dandy life!
